Zolpidem works fine for insomnia, as does zaleplon. However, they are expensive and insurance covers only 90 days of each per year; and I read that long term use isn't good, anyway. So I alternate nights with antihistamines, melatonin and light alcohol. This gets me to sleep with no apparent ill effects.
