Alan Saber, MD

Dr. Alan Saber is currently Chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery and an Associate Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University. Dr. Saber earned both his MD and a post-doctoral degree in surgery from the Alexandria University School of Medicine in Alexandria, Egypt. After completing his surgical residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York, Dr. Saber accepted a fellowship in bariatric surgery and advanced minimally invasive surgery at The Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida.

Dr. Saber maintains professional memberships in the European Association for Transluminal Surgery, the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Hernia Society, and the Michigan Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. His clinical interests include Minimally Invasive Surgery, laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Lap Band, and Lap Sleeve Gastrectomy.

Dr. Saber has written numerous articles and chapters for publication and has been invited to present his work at many national and international conferences.
