Medical Definition of Vasodilation

Vasodilation: Widening of blood vessels that results from relaxation of the muscular walls of the vessels. What widens in vasodilation is actually
the diameter of the interior (lumen) of the vessel. The opposite of vasodilation is vasoconstriction.
