The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests:
- Talking about the new baby. Even if your youngest can't understand what it really means, it's good to talk about it.
- Sharing your excitement. Your child will start to feel excited too, simply because you are.
- Reading books together about getting a new sibling.
- Planning a special activity, gift or event to celebrate your oldest child once the new baby arrives.
