Audrey Cook, BVM&S, Dip ACVIM
Audrey Cook graduated with Distinction from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine at Edinburgh University, in 1989. She spent the next year completing an internship in small-animal medicine and surgery at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After a year in general practice in England, Cook began a three-year residency in small-animal internal medicine at the University of California, Davis.
In 1994, she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and in 1996 she achieved Diplomate status in the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. In 1997, Cook started a referral practice in Newport News, Va., and was owner and staff internist for ten years.
In 2007, Cook joined the faculty of the department of small animal clinical sciences at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, as a clinical associate professor, where she does clinical and classroom instruction for veterinary students. Her clinical interests include canine and feline endocrinology and gastroenterology. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on various aspects of small-animal medicine and regularly speaks at national veterinary meetings.
