USES: Schisandra has been used for increasing the body's resistance to stress, boosting the body's natural defense (immune system), increasing physical ability and endurance, and increasing mental alertness. It has also been used for a certain liver disease (hepatitis) and for protecting the liver. This product has also been used for irritability, depression, memory loss, difficulty sleeping (insomnia), cough, and shortness of breath. If you have or think you have a serious medical condition, consult your doctor for advice on proper care and treatment.Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives. HOW TO USE: Take this product by mouth as directed. Follow all directions on the product package. Limit alcoholic beverages.Schisandra is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using this product.It is not known whether this product passes into breast milk. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you also take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), other medicine for sleep or anxiety (e.g., alprazolam, diazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., chlorpromazine, risperidone, amitriptyline, trazodone). Check the labels on all your medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products) because they may contain ingredients that may cause drowsiness. MISSED DOSE: If you are taking this product on a regular schedule and miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
