I had my gallbladder removed, and a few days after surgery, I experienced, on two occasions, the same pain I had before surgery. I haven't had any more pains, besides the two, and I was wondering if I am still going to have problems. I eat whatever I want; no food has bothered me. I can't understand why I only had two pains, and I haven't had another one.
There are three reasons for pain following removal of the gallbladder. The first is that gallstones were left in the ducts. The second is that there was a complication of the gallstones or the surgery. The third is that the pain is not related to the gallbladder but to another disease process. Only your physician can determine which explanation is the correct one.
