Picture of Sweet's Syndrome

Sweet syndrome is a rare autoinflammatory skin disorder characterized by a fever and sudden outbreak of a rash with multiple lesions. These lesions are tender, red or bluish-red bumps and can occur anywhere on the body. In some cases, internal organs can be affected, and the musculoskeletal system can become involved resulting in swollen joints. There are several possible causes for Sweet syndrome including infection, malignancy, pregnancy, and drug exposure. It is usually treated with corticosteroids.
