Sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronan) intra-articular injection (Hyalgan, Supartz, Euflexxa, Orthovisc) is a prescription medication used to treat knee pain from osteoarthritis in patients who do not receive proper relief from simple pain medications like acetaminophen (Tylenol and others).
