I grew up extremely poor and with a violent, mentally ill alcoholic dad, so a vast majority of my childhood Christmas memories are anything but happy. Now we're removed from that dysfunction, but still struggle with money, and I obsess on making each Christmas for my kids everything I always wanted but never had. Then I feel guilty that it's not enough. It never feels like enough.
