My husband is 42 years old, and has genetic glaucoma with older brother being blind for a few years now. My husband has gone through more than 14 procedures including bleb, multiple bleb revision, tubes, multiple laser, and latest MP laser. He is on multiple drops, combination of drops, and Diamox. He even tried acupuncture, not sure if due to acupuncture or herbs, his eye pressure went up to 50s in both eyes, and then he started the series of all the surgeries mentioned above. Drops do not seem to work on him. He has so much scarring issues, therefore surgeries just cause more trauma. Every surgery has post operation complications such as blurry vision and blood shot eye. Eye drops gave him systemic side effects such as low heart rate, lack of energy, eczema, and claustrophobia. I hope every minute for him to get better. But I don't know if anything really helps anymore. We tried nutritional approach, supplements, exercise to drain pressure, taking hot shower to lower pressure, and nothing seems to help. But we continue to try, to find answers and fight the disease. As a wife who loves him dearly, it's very hard to see him go through daily struggles, and every visit to the ophthalmologist is a fearful ride, nothing but depressing news.

In 2013 I lost sight in my right eye and was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic. I used drops for the next year (Pred Forte, Simbrinza, and Lumigan). Nothing stopped my loss of sight. The sight in my left eye is also starting to diminish.

About the last 8 months I have had burning and drainage of my eyes from the outer corners and my eyes changed from blue to green.

When I was diagnosed with a acute attack I had severe pain in my eye and around it. It felt like someone had taken out my eye ball twisted it and put it back in. i eventually had no vision in left eye. I just wanted to untwist it. However leading up to this event I had been (on and off) been having pain behind my eyes and blurred vision. It usually happened at night and was inconsistent as I could not find any triggers for it. i had informed my optician but then they just made me do a field vision test. I am awaiting copies of my notes because I want to know what the pressures were. When I was diagnosed the IOP were 53 and 22.
