Patient Comments: Edema - Salt Intake

If you've had edema, in what ways do you adjust your salt intake?

Comment from: apteryx, 65-74 Female (Patient) Published: June 12

I've reduced my salt intake by eliminating canned foods, except for those labeled 'no salt added.' I make my own sauces and use dried beans. I'm not sure how much this has affected my (mild) edema, but I'm actually enjoying my food more.

I adjust my salt intake by simply not adding extra salt, although some can be found in food and drinks.
