Patient Comments: Persistent Depressive Disorder - Psychotherapy

If you have depression (persistent depressive disorder), have you tried psychotherapy? Please share your experience.

Comment from: kat, 55-64 Female (Patient) Published: December 17

I have suffered with chronic depression for over 20 years now, 2 years back I got diagnosed with dysthymia. In the past have had CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), group therapy as well as one to one. I have found that they give you an awareness of the problem but not a solution and when things go wrong as in everyday stuff I remain as stuck as I was before but now have all this understanding about me, but to no avail.
