Overview

Dr. Long earned his bachelor’s degree in General Science at the University of Iowa and continued his medical education at the University Of Iowa College of Medicine. Upon graduating, he completed a residency in radiology at the University of Arkansas for Health Sciences, and a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Long has authored oncology journal articles and has extensive experience with television, radio and newspaper presentations. He has been active in community service and has worked extensively with the American Cancer Society. Dr. Long joined Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC in Houma in April 2009.
