Dr. Zapatel obtained his medical degree from the University of Guadalajara. His residency in both Child and Adult Psychiatry was through the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry. This included the Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Training Program and Bostons Childrens Hospital. His main interests are in mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder), Attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia). He is currently an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at UCSDCulturally sensitive, Dr. Zapatel enjoys working with persons of diverse backgrounds.
