Overview

Completing his undergraduate and medical degrees at Texas A&M University in 1979 and 1983 respectively, Dr. Mahaffey finished his obstetrics and gynecology residency in 1987 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. In 1991, after fulfilling a four-year obligation to the Air Force in Del Rio, Texas, he and his wife welcomed a move to Central Texas where he could join an established practice and they could raise their son, daughter, and longhorns. Dr. Mahaffey performs a broad range of gynecologic surgeries, and is very enthusiastic about a full obstetric practice as evidenced by the thousands of baby pictures adorning his walls. In addition to raising cattle, he enjoys restoring old cars and tractors.
