Overview

I was born and raised in a beautiful town in Romania. As a young child, the apparent magic of a physicians being able to make people healthy again was something I wanted to master. As I grew up and became more educated, I realized that medicine was not magic, but knowledge, skill, and compassion. After high school I was admitted to medical school and upon graduation continued my training in internal medicine. I have balanced my academic and clinical responsibilities with an active personal life. I married after my third year of medical school and feel extremely grateful to have a wonderful husband and two handsome boys. I moved to the U.S. and, while doing research in clinical neuroscience at Loma Linda University, I realized that neurology was definitely my passion. In 2005 I completed my training in neurology at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, in a UCLA-affiliated residency program.
