Hello! My name is Dr. Susan Kramer and I am an obstetrician and gynecologist from the Chicagoland area! I grew up in Highland Park, Il and I went to Stanford University for undergraduate education. I returned to Chicago for my medical training at Northwestern University. This was a second career for me--I started medical school when I was 30! My practice is very busy and I am one of seven other ob/gyns in Lake County as part of the Northshore University HealthSystems out of Highland Park Hospital. Most of my partners and I trained at Northwestern's Prentice Hospital in downtown Chicago and we chose to practice together as we each graduated from our residency program. I have been in practice in general obstetrics and gynecology since 2003 and I love my job and taking care of women and their health! I strive to give every patient a positive experience when in my care. Patient safety is my number one priority. I do my very best to listen to my patients and I help patients to make decisions that maximize their benefits and minimize their risks. I am very accessible and often communicate with patients via our electronic medical record. It is not uncommon for me to give my cell phone number to patients in need. I love helping people and especially women, and that is why I went into the field of obstetrics and gynecology. I also really appreciate feedback because I cannot do better unless I know better.
