Overview

Asad A. Sheikh, MD, is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and serves as a medical oncologist for MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando. Dr. Sheikh received his medical degree with honors from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. Dr. Sheikh completed both his internship and residency in internal medicine from the University of Florida. He then completed his combined hematology/oncology fellowship program at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where he also served as chief fellow. Dr. Sheikh has special interest and experience in breast cancer and gastrointestinal oncology. He has received many accomplishments and awards, and he presented the second largest data trial in the United States on breast cancer in community setting. He also received the Blue Ribbon of Commendation for a breast cancer research paper from Georgia Cancer Coalition. Dr. Sheikh has many published articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of many national and internal organizations, including The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), The American Society of Hematology and Oncology (ASH), the American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association and the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA).
