Overview

About Me: My mother, a remarkably talented public school educator, inspired me to teach. I tutored other students when I was in high school, mentored students during my college years, and coached more than a dozen of my daughters sports teams. My specialty allows me to fulfill my passion for teaching. Every day I have the opportunity to educate women on reproductive health issues, from puberty to their menopausal years and beyond. As an added bonus, I learn from my patients as they share their experiences with me. About my practice: As an obstetrician and gynecologist, I have the privilege to be a part of some of the most meaningful times for my patients, as when I participate in a mother-to-bes first prenatal experience or counsel a young woman as she enters a new relationship. Medicine is a career that affords an opportunity to connect with people in a very significant way. I can use my medical skills and knowledge to diagnose and treat. Most importantly, however, I can listen and respond to the needs of my patients so that I will be able to optimize their care. I am grateful for the chance to help my patients understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, and communicate with them and their families. How I thrive: I strive to set an example for my patients by living a healthy and balanced life. My favorite activity is yoga, which helps to maintain my strength, flexibility, and focus. I also love to travel, which has broadened my vision and appreciation for life. Most of all, I cherish the time that I can share with members of my family, most of whom live outside the Southern California area. Whether it is over a meal or just hanging out with them, their support and encouragement helps me to thrive.
