Overview

After earning her medical degree with honors from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn., Dr. Lamar completed her internal medicine internship and residency, as well as her hematology and oncology fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. She is a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society for Clinical Oncology. As a Board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist, Dr. Lamar’s primary focus is in malignant hematology, with a special concentration treating Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas. She is actively involved in clinical trials and participated in several investigator-initiated, cooperative group and industry-sponsored clinical trials. Dr. Lamar has been a primary author and co-author in several peer-reviewed journals and has presented original research at professional meetings. Before joining Florida Cancer Specialists, Dr. Lamar was an Assistant Professor at the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. In her spare time, Dr. Lamar enjoys sitting outside and reading historical fiction.
