Overview

Amy Lynn Nicholas M.D. grew up in Manchester, NH. She move to Washington, DC in 2001 and graduated summa cum laude from both Georgetown University and Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital/Medstar Washington Hospital Center combined program. Dr. Nicholas is a comprehensive ophthalmologist, a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She has practiced in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area since 2013. Dr. Nicholas was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and passed the Written Qualifying Exam put out by the American Board of Ophthalmology in the top 1% of all test takers. Dr. Nicholas’s areas of interest include cataract surgery, glaucoma diagnosis and management, and diseases of the ocular surface including pterygia and dry eyes. She uses advanced technology, including toric and multifocal intraocular lenses and the femtosecond laser, to help her patients achieve excellent vision after cataract surgery. In her free time, she enjoys biking, cooking, and traveling with her husband and three children.
