Overview

Banu Symington, MD is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and Governor of the ACPs Idaho Chapter. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Medical Association, and Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), and is an active participant in SWOGs Breast Cancer Working Group. She is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Symington is very involved in clinical trials, leading clinical trials enrollment at St. Lukes MSTI for the last five years. In 2011, she won an award from the national Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) for clinical trials participation. She also has a basic research background, and has investigated the role of integrin cell adhesion molecules in cancer cell division and metastasis. Dr. Symingtons Philosophy of Care: The patient is the boss. I am there to help guide you to make informed decisions. An educator at heart, I will do what I can to help you make the right decision. Dr. Symington has two daughters, four dogs, and a cat. Shes an athlete and gardener, and has recently been bitten by the travel bug.
