Overview

Welcome to My Doctor Online, a web site that my colleagues and I developed to make it easier for you to take care of your healthcare needs. On this site you will find answers to many of your questions about my clinical practice. Also included are several online features that will allow you to e-mail me, check your laboratory results and refill prescriptions. I hope you find its content informative and useful. Background When I was about 10 years old, I went to work one day with my dad. He was the Chief of OB/GYN at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. My mother was away on a ski trip with my two older brothers, and I had pestered my dad into letting me watch him do surgery. I liked the surgery okay, but I loved the OR nurse who could wiggle his ears. It was then that my decision was finalized- I was going to be a doctor like my dad and be able to work with people who could do amazing things like ear-wiggling. I never lost sight of my goal of becoming a doctor. For my 12th birthday I asked for a copy of Gray's Anatomy, the classical anatomy text. After completing high school, I attended UC Davis from 1986-1990 and earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I have always had a very strong interest in how and why people feel the way they do, in how we interact and experience the world around us. I learned how to be a work-aholic in college. I studied about 100 hours per week in order to obtain admission to the Medical School of my choice, UCSF (I wanted to live close to home--there's nothing like mom's cooking). During Medical School I learned the importance of "stopping to smell the roses." I only studied about 60 hours per week and spent a lot of time reflecting on why I was in medicine, what I could accomplish and how I could make the biggest impact on the lives of my patients. My decision to enter the field of OB/GYN (besides just walking in my dad's footsteps -- he is the real "Dr. Golditch") has a lot to do with my commitment to women’s rights, who women are, what they experience in life and the complex challenges they can present to an Obstetrician /Gynecologist I don't shy away from any problem. I am not a quitter. My patients really matter to me. I care about who my patients are as people. I have a very relaxed style with my patients (I really prefer being called Brad) but I take patient care and being the best possible doctor very seriously. I think we all have to slow down and remember that we need each other not only as doctor and patient, but as human beings. I have a special interest in the care of women with higher risk pregnancies, women with co-existing medical problems like hypertension or diabetes. I enjoy the challenge that complicated pregnancies offer but mostly I enjoy helping mothers to enjoy a pregnancy that may otherwise be filled with anxiety. I am currently helping our great exploration into computerized medicine. It is a huge project. It's a little like taking a secluded primitive tribe and placing them on the international space station. Medicine is a decade behind other industries in its use of computer technology. It is really very fun out here on the horizon. Roles and Responsibilities I currently see patients in the clinic and work in Labor and Delivery. I work with the regional Program Director of Health Connect our Computerized Medical Record helping to enhance our use of technology in the care of our patients. My Staff Evangeline Pring is my Medical Assistant. I could not be the Doctor I am without her. All of you who have met her know that she is one of the kindest and most professional people around. She is integral to our care team. My Colleagues When I started at KP Santa Rosa, there were about 10 people in the department, it has more that tripled. We are a wonderful group that I am proud to be part of.
