Larry Newland Francis , MD

Overview

Larry N. Francis, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., graduated from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Guadalajara, Mexico and completed his medical degree at the University of California-Irvine. He did his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Hahnemann University Medical School (now Drexel University), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He subsequently completed a Fellowship in Uro-Gynecology/Pelvic Surgery at the University of California at Irvine/Long Beach Memorial Hospital. He is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Prior to receiving privileges at Pioneers Memorial Hospital, Dr. Francis was an attending physician at Riverside County Regional Medical Center where he was the Director, Division of Urogynecolgy, and Medical Director of Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). He serves as an Adjunct Professor at Moreno Valley College (formerly Riverside Community College) in the Community College Physician Assistant Program and was a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He continues to mentor Physician Assistant students on clinical rotation at Pioneers Hospital. Dr. Francis is licensed to practice medicine in California. PMHD is ranked in the Top 5% for maternity care in the United States by HealthGradesâ„¢ for 2011/2012 and is the only one in the Imperial and Riverside counties and the city of San Diego. Additionally, PMHD is now ranked in the Top 5% for Gynecologic Surgery in the United States and is the only one Imperial and Riverside counties and the city of San Diego. PMHD is one of only two hospital in the State of California to be ranked in the Top 5% for both Maternity Care and Gynecologic Surgery. Dr. Francis is one of the physician who is responsible for these Top 5% rankings.
