Overview

John Burke, MD, has extensive experience in oncology and research. He earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University where he graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. in history and science in 1992. Dr. Burke went on to earn his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston in 1997 where he graduated with high honors. Dr. Burke completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of California at San Francisco. His work and research experience includes a fellowship in medical oncology/hematology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. While there, he performed clinical trials of radioimmunotherapy for acute leukemia. Dr. Burke is board certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine. He has published articles in numerous journals including Bone Marrow Transplantation, Cancer Control and Clinical Lymphoma. Dr. Burke is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research and the American Society of Hematology. Dr. Burke joined Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in July 2003. He practiced in Colorado Springs for 6-1/2 years before moving to Aurora in January 2010. He enjoys treating all cancer types including breast, gastrointestinal, lung, genitourinary (prostate, kidney, and bladder), and hematologicalmalignancies.
