Dr. Adnan Akhtar is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist who has been providing expert medical care for patients across Central Florida for more than a decade. He specializes in oncology, hematology and internal medicine, and has substantial experience in treating patients with blood disorders and multiple other cancers. He provides inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy, pain management for cancer patients, advanced treatments for blood disorders, access to clinical trials and follow-up care. Dr. Akhtar’s dedication to the field of medicine came naturally to him, as his parents were respected physicians and his personal heroes growing up. As a medical student, he was again inspired to become an oncologist by his mentor, Dr. Tauseef Ahmed, who was then director of bone marrow transplants at New York Medical College. Dr. Ahmed’s outstanding compassion, knowledge, professional relationships and patient care became the model of excellence that Dr. Akhtar seeks to emulate every day.
