Overview

Dr. Scott Stephens is an orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in Shoulder and Elbow surgery and Sports medicine. He believes each patient deserves the opportunity to return to activities that they have a passion for and that this can only be achieved by individualizing treatment. Dr. Stephens grew up in northeast Ohio. He received his medical degree from The University of Toledo School of Medicine and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency in Columbus, Ohio at the Mount Carmel Medical Center. Following residency, Dr. Stephens completed dual fellowship sub-specialty training. His first fellowship was in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy in Miami, FL at Doctor’s hospital where he assisted in the care and treatment of the 2013 NBA Champion Miami Heat. He was than accepted to the prestigious Shoulder and Elbow fellowship at the University of Texas in San Antonio under the guidance of world renowned shoulder and elbow surgeons Dr. Rockwood, Dr. Morrey, and Dr. Wirth. There he learned the latest techniques in shoulder and elbow arthroscopy and reconstruction. During his training, Dr. Stephens has cared for athletes at all levels of competition from high school to the professional level and has performed all aspects of shoulder surgery from minimally invasive arthroscopy to complex shoulder replacements. In addition, he has strived to further the understanding of orthopaedic surgery by participating in continued research on shoulder and elbow surgery.
