Patient Comments: Croup - How It's Spread

Where do you think your baby or child caught the virus that caused croup? Were other family members sick?

Comment from: arfeiniel, 0-2 Male (Caregiver) Published: January 23

My child caught the croup virus at church. Someone brought their sick child and sat right behind us, I didn't know until the end of the meeting when the child started coughing. She was clearly very ill, face flushed from fever, wrapped in a blanket on mom's lap, with horrible cough; probably 4 years old. The mom brought her to the adult meeting because the children's teacher wouldn't have taken a child so ill. Now my whole family has been sick for almost a week.

I think the 18 month old baby got croup from an unsanitary house or from a kitten or rabbit.
