Patient Comments: Pacemaker - Implantation

Do you have a biventricular pacemaker? Please describe your implant experience.

Comment from: Ticker01, 45-54 Female (Patient) Published: April 11

My biventricular pacemaker implant experience was not as easy as expected. Rather than the 7 days of convalescence suggested. I required 3 weeks instead. My primary problem was with my shoulder. My shoulder was dislocated slightly which caused a partial frozen shoulder. I had to receive 4 weeks of physical therapy for this issue alone. It is very important for the pacemaker patient to move the shoulder as guided by the physician after the surgery. As for the pacemaker surgery itself, it took at least 8 weeks to adjust to carrying an object or device in your body.
