Patient Comments: Vasculitis - Treatment

What kinds of treatment did you receive for your vasculitis?

Comment from: Worried Sick, 45-54 Male (Patient) Published: July 21

I am 45 years old & was diagnosed with vasculitis in April of 2014. I was originally put on 80 mg of prednisone and 100 mg of Cytoxan (cyclophosphamide) daily. Last month, doctor added Crestor 10 mg daily to my treatment, due to high cholesterol. On July 1st, my doctor lowered the prednisone to 60 mg daily. And that is my current dose. Side effects are insomnia, hand/feet/calf cramps, mood swings, pimples on back of neck/shoulders/chest, loss of hair on outside of both calves (bald), weakness in legs, shortness of breath after very little activity, blurred vision, groin pain, mouth sores, never healing cuts, redness/pain around toe nails, swollen ankles, swollen fat face/neck, anxiety, acid reflux, and burning in kidney area.
