valrubicin-intravesical (cont.)
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: irritable bladder, bladder spasms, small bladder size or other bladder problems (e.g., perforation, trauma), urinary tract infections, allergies (especially to anthracyclines such as daunorubicin or doxorubicin, and allergy to polyoxyethyleneglycol which is also known as Cremophor EL). This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor for more details. It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: other anti- cancer drugs. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., biopsy, cystoscopy, urine cytology) will be performed to monitor your progress.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist to establish a new dosing schedule.
STORAGE: Before mixing, store the solution between 36 and 45 degrees F (2-8 degrees C). Do not freeze or heat the vials. After dilution in IV fluids, valrubicin is stable for 12 hours at temperatures up to 77 degrees F (25 degrees C).
