Patient Comments: Urinary Tract Infections - Medications

What medications have been effective in treating a urinary tract infection?

Comment from: jillyb, 55-64 Female (Patient) Published: May 21

I have frequent urinary tract infections and antibiotics are not helping me. I became allergic to Macrobid and just finished ciprofloxacin which gave me hives. I take cranberry twice a day as well. I heard that a low dose of vaginal estrogen may help.
