USES: This product is used for congestion and sinus infection or other related infections (e.g., throat).
HOW TO USE: Take by mouth as directed, usually every six hours. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do this by taking the medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection. If symptoms do not improve after two days, contact your doctor.
SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, blurred vision, insomnia, dry mouth, or headache might occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Report promptly: palpitations, chest tightness. Very unlikely but report promptly: unusual bruising, tingling hands/feet, urinary problems, hand tremor. Rarely, this medication can cause serious, even fatal, side effects such as a severe peeling skin rash known as Stevens- Johnson syndrome, blood disorders (e.g., agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia), or liver damage. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop any of the following symptoms: skin rash or blisters, unusual fatigue, persistent sore throat or fever, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, abdominal pain. In the unlikely event you have a serious allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor your medical history, including: any allergies (especially drug allergies), kidney or liver disease, glaucoma, enlarged prostate and any urinary blockages, ulcers or stomach blockages, asthma, high blood pressure, thyroid problems (hyperthyroid), heart disease, blood disorders (e.g., G6PD deficiency), diabetes. Limit use of alcohol as the drowsiness effect of this drug may be enhanced. Caution when performing tasks requiring alertness. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). This medicine is not indicated for use in premature infants and newborns during the first month of life. This product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. This product is not recommended for use near the end of the pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Ingredients in this medication may be excreted into human milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
