GENERIC NAME: SULFACETAMIDE/SULFUR GEL - TOPICAL (sull-fuh-SEET-uh-mide/SULL-fur)BRAND NAME(S): AvarMedication Uses | How To Use | Side Effects | Precautions | Drug Interactions | Overdose | Notes | Missed Dose | Storage USES: This medication is used to help treat acne and other skin conditions (e.g., seborrheic dermatitis). This product contains antibacterial and drying agents that promote shedding of the skin's top layer (keratolysis). HOW TO USE: This medication is for use only on the skin. Apply a thin layer of medication to the affected area 1 to 3 times daily, or use as directed by your doctor.Avoid getting any of this medication in the eyes or inside the nose or mouth. If it does get in your eyes, wash them immediately with plenty of water. Call your doctor if eye irritation persists.For patients using the green corrective gel: gently massage the gel completely and evenly into the affected area.Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens.
