Patient Comments: Suicide - Symptoms and Signs

Did you recognize signs that a friend or loved one was suicidal? What did you do?

Comment from: none, 45-54 Female (Patient) Published: May 30

I attempted suicide by taking OTC pills, and slitting my wrist. I felt worthless and didn't feel like living anymore. I've been in counseling for three years, and have been seeing a psychiatrist. I was diagnosed with major depression, anxiety, and a chemical imbalance. Now I'm taking medication for my depression and am doing much better.

I always thought of suicide because I feel alone in this world. I hope someone will truly love me. I'm going to see a therapist over the summer to get these thoughts out of my head, but would really like some help.
