What treatment was effective for your sty?

I'm 21 years old and an Animal Science Junior at Oklahoma State University. When I was younger I remember my mom talking about getting a sty every now and again and she would always take off one of her gold (real gold) rings and rub on it. As a child I wondered does this really work, but I have had a couple of stys within the last 5 or 6 years and every time I get one I take off my 14K Gold ring and rub on it. Every time I think about it I rub that ring on it and within 2 or 3 days it's gone. I know it sounds strange but it works. My nana had one a couple months ago that had gotten really big overnight and she is allergic to antibiotics and asked me if I knew anything that might help and I told her to take off one of her gold rings and rub on it and continue to do it every time you think about it. And sure enough 2 days later it was gone. Try it out next time you have one and see for yourself.

I read about sty's, there are certain stressful situations that contribute mine were related to my divorce (I guess I had an evil eye for my former partner ha ha) my grandmother was a healer that used herbs she made up a solution of raspberry leaf tea ( 1bag to 8 oz hot water) let it cool to body temperature (warm feels soothing)then put it in an eye dropper the pain was gone instantly the seed which is raspberry shape popped out a few hours later just keep dropping the tea until the sty is gone. It is the only thing non-pharmaceutical that works fast to relieve the pain and to get the sty seed out. Make certain that the tea is close to body temperature. 0

I just got my first sty. I did not know what to do until my husband told me to rub a little Vaseline on my eyelid as he use to get them all the time as a child and that is what his mother would do. I was skeptical but decided to try it and it worked. The sty was gone the next day. My eyelid was swollen and hurt so I rubbed the Vaseline next to the eye lashes and over the eyelid and it actually worked. My husband told me it always worked for him when he was a young boy. He told me not to wait till it got really bad do it as soon as you feel like something is going on and it will take it away. So glad I listened to his advice.

I have had several styes before, and this has worked most of the time, when the stye is caused by an infected hair follicle rather than a gland. Take a pair of tweezers and pull gently on the eyelashes along the stye area until you find the one that puts you in tears. Pluck it. It will really hurt, but I find that it helps the stye clear up much quicker. If this is not effective, the infection is probably in a gland rather than a follicle.

Saturate a smooth cloth in hot tap water, wring it out and apply until cool, to stye only, not around the stye or you'll cook your eye. Do it as many times as you can. Try hot water on a cotton swab but it doesn't hold heat as long. Either way, keep doing this until the stye goes away in a day or two, usually.

I have been to four doctors and finally I found someone that diagnosed my sty correctly. I have a sty on the inside of the corner of my eyelid. The doctor gave me Tobradex ointment. He said it if doesn't go away in one week, he will give me a shot of a steroid in my eye. If that doesn't make it go away he has to cut it out. How is that procedure done? Does it leave scarring? Will it change the look and shape of my eye?
