stannous fluoride 0.63% oral care rinse - dental, Gel-Kam (cont.)
HOW TO USE: Use this rinse once daily or as directed by your dentist/doctor.Mix the solution with water as directed just before using. Follow the instructions on your product's package. Using the provided cup, take 1/8 fluid ounce (3.75 milliliters) of the dental rinse and add water to make a total of 1 ounce (30 milliliters) of liquid. Mix using the bristle end of your toothbrush.After brushing and flossing, place half of the solution into your mouth, swish vigorously for 1 minute, then spit it out. Repeat with the other half of the solution. Do not swallow.Carefully watch children during use and teach proper rinsing habits to avoid swallowing.If you are using a home irrigator, prepare 1 ounce of solution as described above. Pour into irrigator reservoir and add 4 more ounces (120 milliliters) of water. Mix thoroughly. Use irrigator as directed. Rinse the irrigator with water after each use.To get the most benefit, do not eat, drink, or rinse your mouth for at least 30 minutes after using the solution.Dosage is based on age and the amount of fluoride in your drinking water. Do not exceed the recommended dose without checking with your dentist/doctor. Doing so will not do more to prevent cavities but may lead to side effects instead.Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same time each day.Do not treat this medication like a normal mouthwash: do not use it more often than prescribed, or just to freshen your breath.
SIDE EFFECTS: Temporary staining of the teeth may occur. Brushing may control these stains, which can be removed by your dental professional. If this effect persists or worsens, tell your dentist or doctor promptly.Tell your dentist/doctor immediately if you notice any changes in the color or appearance of your teeth. These effects may be a result of too much fluoride.Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.This is not a complete list of possible side effects.
