What are the usual symptoms of toxoplasmosis?

Although people infected with toxoplasmosis are often unaware of having this disease, typical symptoms of toxo are flulike symptoms, including swollen lymph nodes and muscle aches and pains that last from a few days to several weeks. If your immune system is normal, you cannot get the infection again.

I was giving this diagnosis of toxoplasmosis nearly 20 years ago, I don't know how I got it but it is the answer I got. My left eye is partially blind, I was just given some antibiotics back then so it wouldn't go to my right eye. Now I am getting terrible headaches on right side of my head and my vision is very blurred, I wonder if it could have got to my right eye.

I was not diagnosed with toxoplasmosis until I was 27 years old. I developed black spots in my line of vision. After pictures were taken of the retina, it showed not only the current infection but previous infections and scarring. The doctor said that my mother had an infection during her pregnancy with me. I was given cortisone injections in the eye. For several years, I had additional infections. Each time I had a flare up, my vision was affected. As a result of the scarring, my retina detached. The floaters/dark spots are always with me. But, it has been 20 years since my last infection.
