What are the symptoms of bowel incontinence?

Bowel incontinence refers to the inability to control the passage of small amount of stool, liquid or solid, or control flatus.

People are sometimes reluctant to discuss their lack of bowel control because of the social stigma attached to it. Their initial complaint might be anal itching (pruritis ani), a buttock skin infection, or breakdown of the skin and ulcers.

I had a history of fecal involuntary expulsion. I started reading the ingredient on all labels. Finally I realized it was connected to protein bars. Then I boiled it down to carrageenan. I no longer have the problem. I just avoid foods with that substance. I also quit gluten and my sinus headaches subsided. Then I quit sugar and I no longer have achy muscles and fibromyalgia symptoms. I advise people to be investigative.
