What are the complications of portal hypertension?
The complications of portal hypertension are the complications of liver
failure. These include gastrointestinal bleeding from varices, ascites and
hepatic encephalopathy. Splenomegaly can also cause anemia , low white blood
cell counts, and low platelet counts.
