USES: This combination medication is used to relieve symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
HOW TO USE: Take this medication with food if stomach upset occurs. Take this medication as directed. Do not increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. This is a strong medication and must only be used for the condition for which it is prescribed. It should not be used for just any cough or cold. It is helpful to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.
SIDE EFFECTS: Stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness or headache may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor promptly. Unlikely but notify your doctor promptly if you develop: rapid heart rate. In the unlikely event you have a serious allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: heart disease, kidney or liver disease, lung disease, asthma, ulcers, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, stomach/intestinal problems, diarrhea, enlarged prostate, allergies, history of seizures, history of drug dependency. Because this medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and limit alcohol intake, which can aggravate this effect. This drug should be used during pregnancy only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This drug is excreted into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on the nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
