Medical Definition of Acrophobia
Acrophobia: An abnormally excessive and persistent fear of heights. Sufferers experience severe anxiety even though they usually realize that, as a rule, heights pose no real threat to them.
Derived from the Greek "acron", height + "phobos", fear.
