Fisher-Price Recalls About 24,000 3-in-1 High Chairs; One Child Reportedly Injured When Seat Detached

March 25, 2009 -- Fisher-Price is recalling about 24,000 of its 3-in-1 High Chair to Boosters, which convert from a high chair to a toddler booster seat, because of a fall risk.

The seat can fall backward from the high chair frame if the booster-seat release is unlatched while the child is in the product. The seat back can also detach if it's not fully snapped into place, posing a fall hazard and risk of serious injury to young children.

Fisher-Price has received one report of a child who suffered a skull fracture after falling when the seat back detached, according to a news release from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The products were sold nationwide at Target stores from December 2008 through March 2009 for about $100.

If you have one of those products -- with the product number P5369 printed on the side of the seat, on a label on the seat pad, and on the product's packaging -- stop using it immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a free repair kit and instructions.
