Dr. Ben Wedro practices emergency medicine at Gundersen Clinic, a regional
trauma center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. His background includes undergraduate and
medical studies at the University of Alberta, a Family
Practice internship at
Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and residency
training in Emergency
Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences
Center. He is a diplomat
of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Life Fellow of the American
College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Wedro is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine,
University
of Wisconsin-Madison and Adjunct Faculty at the University of
Wisconsin-La
Crosse. He has previously held teaching appointments at the University of
Oklahoma and the Medical College of Wisconsin. As well, Dr. Wedro works with a variety of media outlets including newspaper
and television networks providing medical background information. This has
included work at numerous large events including summer and winter Olympics
Games, FIFA World Cup and the Pan Am Games. As part of his practice in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Wedro has lectured
throughout the United States and Europe maintains a special interest in exercise
physiology and athletic injuries and illnesses. There are weekly articles about
