Sex Diet (cont.)

McCLOSKEY:
The Love Squat is a hand-holding relationship-building exercise, where you stand facing each other with your legs shoulder-width apart and you hold hands and bend your legs and lower your bottom until it's parallel to the floor, all the while holding hands. Then I suggest you hold the position for three seconds. Then stand back up.

MODERATOR:
And this can be done clothed or naked!

McCLOSKEY:
I have notices that a lot of men have responded well to this diet. I think it's another one men enjoy, just like Atkins. On that diet they loved the fact they could have steak. On mine, it is also about something pleasurable and includes one of life's greatest indulgences, which is sex.

"Since 95% of diets fail, I figured this was a plan that other people could enjoy and succeed with because this diet is about pleasure, not denial."

MODERATOR:
How did you discover this diet?

McCLOSKEY:
I discovered the diet during a particular time of romance and passion in my relationship. I noticed that our intimacy was having an effect on my body, so I figured why not use it as an actual tool to lose weight and transform my whole existence to be more sensual and I found that it was a cycle. The better I looked the more sex I wanted and the more sex I had, the better I looked. Since 95% of diets fail, I figured this was a plan that other people could enjoy and succeed with because this diet is about pleasure, not denial. And, it's easy to stay motivated when you receive such a great reward with your body and your relationship!

MEMBER QUESTION:
So, what's a typical day on the sex diet?

McCLOSKEY:
I recommend having sex 3 to 5 times per week and doubling up on the weekend. So, a typical day, depending on what your time frame is, could begin with sex, if you choose to in the morning, and then a healthy, well-balanced breakfast (I encourage fruit and protein and some whole grains.)

Then, throughout the day, I encourage couples to fantasize and think about eating sexy as well. Make eating a sensory experience. It takes the stomach 12 to 16 minutes to transfer signals to your brain that you're full. If you eat your meal slower and chew more, you will feel satiated on less food, in addition to feeling more sensual.

Throughout the day I would encourage people to rechannel their cravings. They should realize for instance, that if they're craving fatty food out of boredom, they should replace it with a thought of how they're going to surprise their partner that night. Then their mind will be more on their sweetie than on sweets.

I also recommend that you dress sexy. Many people wait until after they've lost weight to buy new clothes, but never actually lose the weight because they feel bad about themselves during the day because they're wearing unflattering clothing. Whereas, if you dress for success you'll feel more personal motivation. What better feeling after you've lost the weight than to have those clothes that you used to feel good in be too big?

Finally, I also recommend supplementing the plan with moderate exercise, taking long romantic walks with your partner, or bike rides, or go swimming together. Exercising is fun when you have a buddy; it allows you to spend more time together and this keeps you motivated.

MEMBER QUESTION:
Can sex really be considered exercise?

McCLOSKEY:
Yes. On average we burn 150 to 250 calories per half-hour session. It can be up to 350 if you're really wild. There are of course positions that require more strength and flexibility that are exercise, as well.

MODERATOR:
Do you explain those positions in detail in your book?

McCLOSKEY:
Yes. I explicitly tell you how to engage in them in the book. There's one called Let's Get Crazy which is a great exercise for the woman's stomach and buttocks. While lying on her back, the woman extends her legs straight in the air, slightly spread, with her rear lifted. The man bends down in a slight squat, lifting her. So, he is using his arms for support working his triceps and his quads, as well.

MODERATOR:
Get the book to get the details about the Reverse Cowgirl, the Humpty Bumpty, the Wheelbarrow of Fun and more.

MEMBER QUESTION:
Can you recommend some foods that boost the libido?

McCLOSKEY:
There are even spices that can boost libido, such as mustard. Ginger is also very good because it's a stimulant for the circulatory system. Even garlic has been known to heat up the passion, but of course you may need to keep a toothbrush handy.
