Medical Definition of Non-inferiority clinical trial

Non-inferiority clinical trial: A clinical trial that shows that a new treatment is equivalent to standard treatment. Also called a non-inferior trial. See: Clinical trials. See also: Inconclusive clinical trial; Negative clinical trial; Positive clinical trial.
