Definition of Hexosaminidase A

Hexosaminidase A: An enzyme which, when deficient, causes Tay-Sachs disease, a progressive fatal neurologic disorder concentrated in people of European Jewish (Ashkenazi) descent. See: Tay-Sachs disease.
