• Aging, due to declining function of vascular valves.
• Having a family history of varicose veins.
• Undergoing hormonal changes due to pregnancy, puberty or menopause.
• Being pregnant.
• Being overweight or obese.
• Being too sedentary.
• Exposing skin to the sun.
