Patient Comments: Reactive Arthritis - Non-Joint Symptoms

What are your symptoms associated with reactive arthritis in non-joint areas?

Comment from: Mandy, 45-54 Female (Patient) Published: May 02

I get symptoms similar to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), such as bloating of my stomach and a lot of wind and then within a day the reactive arthritis starts, with a joint swelling up. There is a definite link between what I eat and the occurrence of a spasm of reactive arthritis. Maybe it is because it started a couple of years ago, after really bad food poisoning (lasting 6 weeks), after eating a bad oyster.
